Martin Ádám (born 6 November 1994) is a Hungarian professionalfootballer who plays as aforward orwinger forNemzeti Bajnokság clubPaks and theHungary national team.
While playing forPaks, Ádám became the top goalscorer of the2021–22 Nemzeti Bajnokság I season with 31 goals,[4][5] becoming the first player to score over 30 goals in the league since 1980.[6]
In July 2022, Ádám moved abroad for the first time in his career and signed forK League 1 teamUlsan Hyundai.[7] He scored his first goal for Ulsan in his second appearance for the club, on 13 August, in a 4–0 victory overDaegu FC.[8] With Ulsan, Ádám won two consecutive K League 1 titles, in2022 and2023.[9] On 5 July 2024, his contract with the club was terminated.[10] Later that month, on 21 July, he joined Greek sideAsteras Tripolis by signing a contract until 2026.[11]
On 18 December 2024, he returned to Paks.[12] In an interview published on Nemzeri Sport, he said that he is happy to return home.[13]
On 14 May 2025, he won the2025 Magyar Kupa final withPaksi FC after beatingFerencvárosi TC 4–3 on penalty shoot-out.[14]
On 23 March 2023, Ádám scored his first goal for theHungary national team in afriendly match againstEstonia.[15][16] On 16 November 2023, he scored the first goal of the game againstBulgaria in the penultimate match of theUEFA Euro 2024 qualifying. The match ended in a 2–2 draw, securing Hungary qualification forthe final tournament.[17]
On 14 May 2024, Ádám was named in Hungary's squad forUEFA Euro 2024.[18] He appeared as a substitute in all three of the team'sGroup A matches, playing a total of 42 minutes.[19]
Ádám met his wife Gitta in primary school. They have a son, Konor, and live inForráskút.[20]
DuringUEFA Euro 2024, Ádám attracted the attention of international fans and media due to his physical appearance, being referred to as an "absolute unit" and nicknamed the "Hungarian Viking".[21][22]
