Marlos Moreno Durán (Spanish pronunciation:[ˈmaɾlosmoˈɾeno]; born 20 September 1996) is a Colombian professionalfootballer who plays as aforward forCategoría Primera A clubAtlético Nacional

Moreno began his career withAtlético Nacional before joiningPremier League sideManchester City for £4.75 million in 2016. During a six-year spell with City he failed to make a first team appearance and was never selected for a matchday squad, instead spending his tenure in with the Blues on loan atDeportivo La Coruña,Girona,Flamengo,Santos Laguna,Portimonense,Lommel andKortrijk.

He has been capped eight times byColombia but has not been selected for a national squad since 2016.

Club career

Atlético Nacional

Born inMedellín, Moreno joinedAtlético Nacional's youth setup in 2010, aged 14.[2] On 23 July 2014, he made his first team debut, coming on as a second-halfsubstitute for Rodin Quiñónes in a 3–1Copa Colombia away win againstRionegro Águilas.

Moreno made hisCategoría Primera A debut on 15 October 2014, starting in a 2–1 loss atDeportivo Pasto.[3] He scored his first professional goal on 10 September of the following year, netting the second in a 3–0 home win againstDeportivo Cali.

On 17 October 2015, Moreno scored a brace in a 4–0 away routing ofAtlético Junior.[4] He also started inthe season's final against the same team, scoring from 30 seconds and helping his team to win its first title of the year; it was also the fastest goal of the club's history.[5]

Manchester City

On 6 August 2016, Moreno signed forManchester City for £4.75 million and was immediately loaned out toDeportivo de La Coruña, in aseason-long deal.[6][7]

Moreno made his debut for Deportivo on 11 September, in a 1–0 loss toAthletic Bilbao.[8]

Moreno was loaned toLa Liga sideGirona FC for the first half of the 2017–18 season.[9] On 12 January 2018, Moreno was loaned out toBrazilian Série A clubFlamengo until 31 December 2018.[10][11]

On 25 January 2019, Moreno was loaned to Mexican sideSantos Laguna.[12] On 31 July 2019, Moreno was loaned to PortuguesePrimeira Liga clubPortimonense on a one-year deal.[13]

Moreno was loaned toLommel, another club owned by theCity Football Group, for the 2020–21 season.[14] Moreno was loaned to Belgian sideKortrijk for the 2021–22 season.

Troyes

After spending six years at Manchester City without making an appearance, Moreno signed a two-year contract with fellow City Football Group clubTroyes on 1 September 2022.[15]

Konyaspor

On 3 March 2023, Moreno joinedKonyaspor on loan until the end of the 2022–23 season.[16] He signed a permanent 2+1 year contract on 1 August.[17]

Tenerife

On 4 September 2024,free agent Moreno returned to Spain after joiningCD Tenerife inSegunda División on a two-year deal.[18]

Atlético Nacional

On 28 July 2025, the Colombian clubAtlético Nacional announced the return of Moreno after being Copa Libertadores champion in 2016.

International career

After representingColombia atunder-17 level, Moreno was called up to the main squad on 11 February 2016.[19] He made his full international debut on 24 March, coming on as 85th-minute substitute forJuan Cuadrado andsetting upEdwin Cardona'slast-minute winner.[20] On 11 June 2016, Moreno scored his first international goal against Costa Rica in theCopa America Centenario.
