Mario Alberto Escobar Toca (born on 19 September 1986) is a Guatemalanfootball referee who is a listed international referee for FIFA since 2013.[4] He is also one of the referees for theLiga Nacional de Fútbol de Guatemala.
On 15 May 2019, Escobar was officially selected as a referee for the2019 CONCACAF Gold Cup inCosta Rica,Jamaica, and theUnited States.[5] He was summoned to officiate the2019 CONCACAF Gold Cup Final betweenMexico and theUnited States, and additionally refereed the2020 CONCACAF Champions League Final betweenUANL andLos Angeles FC.
Escobar was also one of the appointed referees of the2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup inBrazil.[6][7]
