Marilù Tolo (bornMaria Lucia Tolo; 16 January 1944) is anItalian film actress. She appeared in more than 60 films between 1960 and 1985.

Life and career

Tolo was born inRome, and at a very young age worked as an assistant ofMario Riva in theRAI variety showIl Musichiere.[1] She made her film debut at 16 years old inAlberto Lattuada'sSweet Deceptions.[1]

Tolo was among the shortlisted actresses who performedscreen tests for the supporting antagonistic role ofUrsa inSuperman (1978), a role which she narrowly lost out on toSarah Douglas. The screen tests were released as a special feature on the 2001DVD home video re-release of the film.[2]

She was also a fashion model, and a close friend of Italian stylistValentino. Valentino said in an interview to Italian newspaperLa Repubblica that Tolo was the only woman he had ever really loved.[3]
