Margo's Got Money Troubles centers on Margo Millet, whose tumultuous journey unfolds as the daughter of aHooters waitress and a formerprofessional wrestler. After an affair with her junior college English professor leaves her pregnant, Margo turns toOnlyFans to support herself. Reconnecting with her estranged father, who shares wisdom gleaned from his wrestling days, Margo achieves remarkable success on OnlyFans.[1][2]
It was announced in October 2023 thatElle Fanning andNicole Kidman would star in and executive produce the series, whichDavid E. Kelley would serve as showrunner on.[6] In February 2024,Apple TV+ landed the rights to the series, with it receiving a straight to series order.[7] In September 2024,Michelle Pfeiffer joined the cast and will also serve as an executive producer. This marks the first time she has collaborated with Kelley, her husband.[8]Nick Offerman andThaddea Graham would be added to the cast in the following months.[9][10] In February 2025,Marcia Gay Harden andMichael Angarano were cast in guest roles.[11][12] In March 2025,Greg Kinnear,Lindsey Normington,Rico Nasty andMichael Workéyè joined the cast in series regular and recurring capacities, respectively.[13][14]In April 2025,Dearbhla Walsh,Kate Herron, and Alice Seabright were announced as the directors of the series. Walsh directed four of the eight episodes, including the pilot, and Herron and Seabright directed two episodes each. Walsh also served as executive producer of the series.[5]
Filming was due to begin in January 2025 inNew York.[15] It began instead inLos Angeles in February, and is expected to conclude in May.[16] On June 24, 2025, Pfeiffer announced that filming had wrapped.[17]
Margo's Got Money Troubles is slated to premiere with its first three episodes on April 15, 2026, with new episodes dropping weekly thereafter through May 20.[18] The series will premiere at the 2026SXSW Film & TV Festival on March 12, 2026, inAustin, Texas.[19]
