Maren Kaminski (born 15 February 1979) is a German politician fromDie Linke. She was elected to theBundestag in the2025 German federal election.
Kaminski studiedsocial sciences at theLeibniz University Hannover.[1] She then became union secretary of theEducation and Science Union.[2] She lives in theLinden-Limmer borough ofHanover and has a daughter.[1][2]
She was initially a member of theSocial Democratic Party (SPD) and active in the Young Socialists (Jusos).[2] As a result of theHartz reforms of theSchröder government, she switched to theParty of Democratic Socialism (PDS).[2] In 2013, she ran as a mayoral candidate for The Left Party in Hanover.[2] From 2007 to 2013, she was monitored by the Lower Saxony Office for the Protection of the Constitution, which had placed aninformant [de] on her.[2][3] She is the district chairwoman of The Left Party inHanover.
In the2013 Lower Saxony state election, she ran as adirect candidate in theHanover-Buchholz constituency [de].
She ran as a direct candidate in theLangenhagen constituency [de] in the2022 Lower Saxony state election.
In the2005 German federal election, she ran as adirect candidate in theconstituency ofHannover-Land I forDie Linke.
In the2009 German federal election, she ran as a direct candidate in theOsnabrück City constituency for Die Linke.
In the2025 German federal election, Kaminski ran as adirect candidate in the constituency ofHannover II and on the list position of theDie Linke Lower Saxony [de]. She won 10,888 (5.5%) of thefirst votes.[4] She was elected to the Bundestag via thestate list.[5]
