Marckolsheim (French pronunciation:[maʁkɔlsaim];German:Markolsheim) is acommune in theBas-Rhindepartment inAlsace in north-easternFrance.[3]

On the eastern edge of the town theCasemate de Marckolsheim Sud, aMaginot Line fortification left over from theSecond World War, has been converted into a small museum. Approximately 3 kilometres to the east theRhine has been dammed and ahydro-electric power station installed.
