Marcel Dinu (24 July 1935–22 January 2019) was aRomanian diplomat. He was the Romanian Ambassador toGermany,Moldova, andEgypt.[1][2][3]
Dinu was born in 1935 inSilistra, at the time in theKingdom of Romania, later inBulgaria. He studied engineering atFaculty of Civil and Industrial Engineering inBucharest from 1953 to 1958, and then worked as an engineer at a construction company inBrazi until 1962.[1] After completing his post-graduate studies at the Law School of theUniversity of Bucharest, he joined theMinistry of External Affairs in 1964 and served in the diplomatic corps until 2006.[2] He served as Romania's Ambassador toGermany (October 1986 to February 1990), Moldova (February 1997 to February 1999),[1] and Egypt (2001 to 2005).[4] He died in Bucharest in 2019, at age 83.[2]
