Maranzana is acomune (municipality) in theProvince of Asti in theItalian regionPiedmont, located about 70 kilometres (43 mi) southeast ofTurin and about 25 kilometres (16 mi) southeast ofAsti. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 317 and an area of 4.5 square kilometres (1.7 sq mi).[3]
Maranzana borders the following municipalities:Alice Bel Colle,Cassine,Mombaruzzo, andRicaldone.
Maranzana is the birthplace of the explorerGiacomo Bove.[4]
