Maodo Lô (born 31 December 1992) is a German professionalbasketball player forŽalgiris Kaunas of theLithuanian Basketball League (LKL) and theEuroLeague. He playedcollege basketball forColumbia University inNew York City, where he was nicknamedThe Chairman.
He played college basketball forColumbia University of theIvy League. He averaged 14.5 points per game during his four-year career. In 2016 he led Columbia to theCIT championship and was named MVP of the Tournament.
After going undrafted in the2016 NBA draft, Lô joined thePhiladelphia 76ers summer league team. He played for the Sixers team in theLas Vegas Summer League.
On 22 July 2016, Lô signed a contract with the German teamBrose Bamberg.[1] In his first season with Bamberg, Lô won thedouble, as he won theBasketball Bundesliga and theBBL-Pokal. In theEuroLeague, Lô averaged 5.3 points and 1.2 assists in 10.5 minutes per game.[2]
In his second season with Brose, the team finished 4th in the regular season. In the semi-finals, Bamberg was eliminated byBayern Munich.
On 13 July 2018, Lô signed a two-year deal with the German teamFC Bayern Munich.[3]
On 22 July 2020, he signed withAlba Berlin of theBasketball Bundesliga.[4] Lô averaged 9.5 points and 3.1 assists per game. He signed a two-year extension with the team on 4 August 2021.[5]
He won the2021–22 BBL-Pokal with Alba, and was named the Cup's MVP.[6]
On 15 July 2023, he signed a two-year, 1.000.000€ deal with Italian powerhouseOlimpia Milano.
On 22 July 2025, Lô signed one–year contract withŽalgiris Kaunas of theLithuanian Basketball League (LKL) and theEuroLeague.[7]
In 2014, Lô was first selected for theGerman national basketball team.[8] He was selected for the squad that participated atEuroBasket 2015 where he averaged 4.6 points, 1.2 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game.He also played for Germany atEurobasket 2017 andEuroBasket 2022 and was part of the winning team in2023 FIBA World Cup andEuroBasket 2025.
Lô is the son of a Senegalese father and internationally acclaimed German painterElvira Bach.[9]
