Mantralayam is a pilgrim village inKurnool district inAndhra Pradesh, India, on the banks of theTungabhadra River on the border with neighbouring state ofKarnataka. It is known for being the site of thesamadhi ofRaghavendra Tirtha, a saint who lived in the 17th century. He is believed to have chosen to be enshrined alive in a meditative state in front of his disciples at the site of the temple.[2] Thousands of people visit theRaghavendra Math and temples on the banks of the river.[3]
