Manolis Saliakas (Greek:Μανώλης Σάλιακας; born 12 September 1996) is a Greek professionalfootballer who plays as aright-back forBundesliga clubSt. Pauli.[1]

Club career

Saliakas began his football career attending theErgotelis Youth Academy, theyouth system of his localSuper League Greece clubErgotelis. Already capped with theGreece U17 national team, he was spotted byOlympiacos' scouts, who arranged his transfer to theSuper League champions in the winter of 2013.[2]

Olympiacos

Saliakas played little for Olympiacos and moved toLimassol-based sideKarmiotissa on loan, who had been newly promoted to theCypriot First Division. Having made 31 appearances, he returned to Greece joiningChania of theFootball League Greece on a two-year loan. He scored seven goals in 50 games.

Lamia

On 12 July 2019, facing competition at Olympiacos for his playing position fromOmar Elabdellaoui,Bruno Gaspar andVasilis Torosidis, Saliakas moved toLamia on a free transfer. He made 29 consecutive appearances in all competitions.

PAS Giannina

[edit]

On 31 July 2020, he signed a contract withPAS Giannina inIoannina.[3][4] He played againstPanathinaikos where he got into the semi-final of theGreek Cup in the season2020–21.[5][6] With PAS Giannina he achieved 6th place in the2021–22 Super League Greece.

St. Pauli

In June 2022 Saliakas moved toSt. Pauli.[7]

International career

Saliakas made his debut forGreece national team on 3 June 2021 in a friendly against Belgium. He substitutedThanasis Androutsos in the 80th minute.[8]
