Mangueira (Mango Tree) is ashantytown neighborhood (favela) in the city ofRio de Janeiro,Brazil, centered on the Mangueira hill ormorro.[1] It is most famous for itssamba school,[2] theEstação Primeira de Mangueira (First Mangueira [train] Station) or simply Mangueira, which is one of strongest competitors in the annual RioCarnival samba competition.[3]
