Mandy Ingber (born January 11, 1968[1]), sometimes credited asAmanda Ingber, is ayoga instructor and a former actress.[2] Before yoga, Ingber became anindoor cycling instructor at the age of 28.

Early life

Ingber was born to a Jewish family, an American born father and a German born mother.[3]In her childhood, she was introduced to yoga by her father in 1975.[1] As a yoga instructor, she has produced instructional training DVDs such asYogalosophy.

Fitness

She is a New York Times best selling author, having writtenYogalosophy: 28 Days to the Ultimate Mind-Body Makeover andYogalosophy for Inner Strength.[citation needed] Ingber has taught yoga to celebrities such asJennifer Aniston,Ricki Lake,Brooke Shields,Woody Harrelson andHelen Hunt.[1]

Acting career

Ingber began her career as an actress in the original company ofNeil Simon's Tony-award winning playBrighton Beach Memoirs and has played roles in television series, including beingAnnie Tortelli, wife of the eldest son ofCarla, on the television sitcomCheers and its short-lived spin-offThe Tortellis.[4] She also played Robin, Baby's cousin, in the1988 television series adaptation of the filmDirty Dancing.[5]

Her other roles include Enid, Lila Pembroke's friend in the first season ofCharles in Charge and Polly Goldenberg-Cohen in the 1989 cult classicTeen Witch.[citation needed]
