Mandane (Ancient Greek:Μανδάνη) was a town on the coast ofancient Cilicia, betweenCelenderis, and Cape Pisidium or Posidium (modernKızıl Burun),[1] from which it was only 7stadia distant.[2]William Smith conjectured it to be the same place as theMyanda orMysanda mentioned byPliny the Elder;[3] and if so, it must also be identical with the town ofMyus (Μυούς) mentioned in thePeriplus of Pseudo-Scylax betweenNagidus and Celenderis.[4] Modern scholarship does not accept the identity.[5]
Mandane is located nearAkyaka inAsiatic Turkey.[6][5]
