Mandaean Australians are Australians ofMandaean descent or Mandaeans who haveAustralian citizenship. Most Mandaeans in Australia live inGreater Western Sydney.

As of 2023, Australia has the largest Mandaean population in the world, followed bySweden (which has the largest Mandaean population in Europe) and theUnited States.[1]

Sydney metropolitan area

TheSydney metropolitan area in Australia has the largest Mandaean diaspora community in the world.[2] The community is centered inGreater Western Sydney suburbs such asFairfield,Liverpool,[3] andPenrith.[4] In Liverpool, the mainmandi (Beth Manda) isGanzibra Dakhil Mandi.[5] The Sabian Mandaean Association of Australia has purchased land by the banks of theNepean River atWallacia, New South Wales, whereWallacia Mandi is currently being built.[6] Another mandi in Greater Sydney isYahya Yuhana Mandi (or Mandi Yehya Youhanna), located inPrestons.[7]

InWestern Sydney, Mandaeans mainly performmasbuta (baptisms) at Lighthorse Park in Liverpool,Yahya Yuhana Mandi, andWallacia Mandi.[8]

TheSabian Mandaean Association in Australia is the largest Mandaean association in Australia.[9] Religious affairs are managed by the Mandaean Synod of Australia.[10]
