Manching (German pronunciation:[ˈmançɪŋ]ⓘ) is amunicipality in thedistrict of Pfaffenhofen, inBavaria,Germany. It is situated on the riverPaar, 7 km southeast ofIngolstadt. In the lateIron Age, there was a Celtic settlement, theOppidum of Manching, on the location of present-day Manching.
Airbus Defence and Space (formerMilitary Air Systems business unit ofEADS) has its flight test center here atManching Airport.
TheBarthelmarkt, a well-knownbeer festival in the area, takes place in the district ofOberstimm [de] on the last weekend of August every year.
