Malevizi (Greek:Μαλεβίζι) is a municipality inHeraklion regional unit,Crete,Greece. The seat of the municipality is the town ofGazi.[2] The municipality has an area of 291.907 km2 (112.706 sq mi).[3]
The municipality Malevizi was formed at the 2011 local government reform by the merger of the following 3 former municipalities, that became municipal units:[2]
The province of Malevizi (Greek:Επαρχία Μαλεβιζίου) was one of theprovinces of the Heraklion Prefecture. Its territory corresponded with that of the current municipality Malevizi, the municipal unitGorgolainis and parts ofPaliani andHeraklion.[4] It was abolished in 2006.
