Jhala is aRajput clan[2][3] primarily found in theIndian states ofRajasthan andGujarat.[4]

History

TheJhalawar state ruled by Jhala Rajputs in Rajasthan was a 17-gunsalute state,[5] theprincely state ofDhrangadhra was a 13-gunsalute state in the 1920s, when it was ruled by members of the Jhala dynasty. At that time, Jhalas also governed in the 11-gunsalute state ofWankaner and in the 9-gun salute states ofLimbdi andWadhwan, as well as in the non-salute states ofLakhtar,Sayla andChuda.[6] Citing Mandavik Charita, Ratanalāla Miśra states that the Jhala Rajputs are termed asChandravanshi.[7]
