Makharbek Khazbiyevich Khadartsev (Russian:Махарбек Хазбиевич Хадарцев) (born 2 October 1964) is aSoviet-Russian politician and formerwrestler who later competed forRussia andUzbekistan, two times Olympic champion and five times world champion inFreestyle wrestling. He was born in Suadag,Alagirsky District,North Ossetia.
Khadartsev competed at the1988 Summer Olympics inSeoul, where he received a gold medal inFreestyle wrestling, thelight heavyweight class.[1]
He won a second gold medal at the1992 Summer Olympics inBarcelona.[2]
Competing for Russia at the1996 Summer Olympics inAtlanta, he received a silver medal.[3] At the2000 Summer Olympics, he placed 14th while competing for Uzbekistan.
Khadartsev won a gold medal at the1986 FILA Wrestling World Championships inBudapest. He received gold medals also in 1987, 1989, 1990 and 1991.
