TheUnited States Department of Transportation defines amajor carrier ormajor airline carrier as a U.S.-basedairline that posts more than $1 billion in revenue during afiscal year, grouped accordingly as "Group III".[1]

TheBureau of Transportation Statistics updates the listing of major airlines once per year. According to FY2025 revenues, 19 carriers meet the requirement for Group III status.[2]
