Mailly-Maillet (French pronunciation:[majimajɛ]) is acommune in theSommedepartment inHauts-de-France in northernFrance.
The commune is situated on the D919 road, about 20 miles (32 km) northeast ofAbbeville.
It is close to the area of theBattle of the Somme. There are two military cemeteries which are maintained by theCommonwealth War Graves Commission:
Mailly Wood Cemetery was designed byReginald Blomfield.[3]
The smaller of the two military cemeteries, this was designed byWilfred Clement Von Berg.[4]
