Maia Damianovic (born 1976) is a BritishAmerican writer ofart critical texts, magazine articles,exhibition catalogs, artist monograms and art reviews.

Early life and education

Damianovic was born in southernEngland, but grew up inPhiladelphia, Pennsylvania. She attended theUniversity of Toronto and studied art and culture at theÉcole des Beaux-Arts ofParis-Sorbonne University.[1]

Career

Damianovic has worked as an independent curator of large-scale projects for institutions such as theSmithsonian (1996),[2] Kunstraum Innsbruck (2000, 2006),[3][4][5] Frame Programme of the49th Venice Biennale (2001),[6][7] the AR/GE Kunst Galerie Museum inBolzano, Italy (2002),[8][9] Steirischer Herbst Festival,Austria (2002),[10][6][11] Brandts Klædefabrik,Odense, Denmark (2006),[12] and the Lentos Museum of Contemporary Art,Linz, Austria.[13]

Her projects are usually presented in public and off-site locations. She specializes in situational and performative interactions, and enactments.

She co-founded Future Systems Projects withAndy Robinson in 2007, and currently works in the company as an architectural designer.[14]
