Maharana Pratap Airport (IATA:UDR,ICAO:VAUD) is adomestic airport servingUdaipur,Rajasthan,India. It is situated at Dabok, located 22 km (14 mi) east of Udaipur.[5] The airport is named afterMaharana Pratap, who was a prominentMaharana (ruler) of the princely state ofMewar, in north-western India.

The airstrip was used for the first time when a 4-seaterPiper Super Cub landed in the airport on 16 November 1957.[6][7] The airport's new passenger terminal commenced operations in February 2008.[8]

Beside the existing terminal, a new, larger terminal is being constructed to meet the rapidly rising traffic and demands. Itsfoundation stone was laid byPrime MinisterNarendra Modi in October 2023, and construction began in the same month.[9] Once completed by the end of 2025, the airport will begin operations to foreign destinations to become aninternational airport.[10][11]

The airport is spread over 504 acres.[12] It has one 2,743 metre long runway.[13] Its 250 by 150-metreapron provides parking space for fiveBoeing 737 andAirbus A320 type aircraft at a time.[14] A new apron is also constructed on the left side of the existing apron for executive and private aircraft.[14] The new terminal building, measuring 12,000 sq.m., was constructed at a cost of ₹80 crore.[8][4] The terminal has twoaerobridges, 4 check-in counters and can handle 600 passengers during peak hours.[14] The airport is equipped with modern navigational and landing aids likeDistance Measuring Equipment (DME),DVOR, andNon-Directional Beacon (NDB) and is equipped with a CAT-IInstrument Landing System (ILS).[4]
