Mahamadou Doumbia (born 15 May 2004) is a Malian footballer who plays as amidfielder forSaudi Pro League clubAl-Ittihad and theMali national team.
Having begun his career atJMG Academy, he was loaned to Denmark'sNordsjælland before making his debut forRoyal Antwerp in 2024. In 2025, he was sold to Al-Ittihad for an initial €15 million. He made his senior international debut for Mali in 2024 and was chosen for the2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Doumbia began his career at theJMG Academy in his homeland. In July 2022, he was loaned toFC Nordsjælland of theDanish Superliga for one year with the option to buy.[1] His only involvement with the first team was as an unused substitute on 12 October 2022 in a 5–0 win atBSF in the third round of theDanish Cup.[2]
On 6 September 2023, Doumbia signed a four-year contract atRoyal Antwerp, reigning champions of theBelgian Pro League.[3] The transfer fee was €700,000.[4] He made his first-team debut on 28 January 2024 as a half-time substitute forOwen Wijndal in a 1–0 loss atK.A.S. Eupen.[5] Three days later atStandard Liège, he scored the only goal; he had started the game asArthur Vermeeren had been sold toAtlético Madrid.[6] On 8 February, he scored away toK.V. Oostende in the first leg of theBelgian Cup semi-finals, a 1–1 draw.[7]
On 8 September 2025, Doumbia joinedSaudi Pro League sideAl-Ittihad on a five-year contract.[8] The transfer fee was reported as €16 million plus €9 million in bonuses, making him the fourth biggest sale by Antwerp.[4]
In March 2024, Doumbia was called up byMali for twofriendlies againstMauritania andNigeria in Morocco.[9] He was chosen for the2025 Africa Cup of Nations, in the same country.[10]
