TheMagick Image File Format, abbreviatedMIFF, is animage format used byImageMagick. It may be used to storebitmap imagesplatform-independently.[1]

A MIFF file consists of two sections. Theheaders consist ofISO-8859-1 encodedbytes, each with pairs consisting ofkey=value. Keys include background-color, depth, compression rows, units, and custom key/value pairs. The latter may include data such as copyright and comments. The list is terminated with aNULL character.

The next section contains the binary image data. The exact format is defined by theclass header. Usually it isRGBA orCMYK.
