Mackwiller (French pronunciation:[makvilɛʁ]ⓘ;German:Mackweiler) is acommune in theBas-Rhindepartment inGrand Est in north-easternFrance.[3]
In 1955, substantial fragments of a largeMithraeum were unearthed in Mackwiller by Jean-Jacques Hatt, archaeologist and director of theMusée archéologique de Strasbourg.[4] The find is still prominently displayed in that museum.
