Machimpur, also speltMasimpur is a village under Ward 23 ofSylhet,Bangladesh. According to the2011 Bangladesh census, the population of the village was 6,829.[1] The village was noted in the 20th century forManipuri dance after it was visited byNobel laureateRabindranath Tagore.[2][full citation needed][3]
