Mesenchyme homeobox 1 (MEOX1) is aprotein that in humans is encoded by theMEOX1gene.[5][6]
This gene encodes a member of a subfamily of non-clustered, diverged, antennapedia-likehomeobox-containingtranscription factor genes. The encoded protein may play a role in the molecular signaling network regulating somite development. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described.[6]
MEOX1 has been shown tointeract withPAX1[7] andPAX3.[7]
