In March 2024, it was announced that Pellerin, Madekwe and several other actors were cast in the film.[3]
The film premiered at the2025 Sundance Film Festival on January 26, 2025[1] and will be first screened in February in Europe at the75th Berlin International Film Festival in the sectionBerlinale Special Gala, where it will also be in competition for theTeddy Award.[4]
In February 2025,Mubi acquired distribution rights to the film.[5] Later that month,Focus Features acquired international distribution rights.[6]
