Luis V. Rey (born 1955) is a Spanish-Mexican artist and illustrator. A 1977 graduate of theSan Carlos Academy, part of theNational Autonomous University of Mexico, he was among the contributors of the weeklyBarcelona satirical magazineEl Papus.[1]
Rey is best known for his innovative work in the field ofdinosaurpaleoart. In conjunction withRobert T. Bakker, he promoted awareness of the developing evidence forfeathered dinosaurs. Rey is an active member of theSociety of Vertebrate Paleontology[2] and of the Dinosaur Society (UK).[3] Rey was the main illustrator forDr. Thomas R. Holtz Jr.'sDinosaurs (2007), and he won the Two-Dimensional Art category for theSociety of Vertebrate Paleontology's 2008 Lanzendorf-National Geographic PaleoArt Prize.[4]
Rey is an expert onLed Zeppelin bootleg recordings and he contributed theliner notes for theLed Zeppelin BBC Sessions live album.[5][6]
