Luis Arturo Ponce Ortiz (6 June 1910 – 10 November 1974) was a Chileanfootballer. He played in eight matches for theChile national football team from 1937 to 1939.[1] He was also part of Chile's squad for the1937 South American Championship.[2]
Ponce joinedMagallanes in 1933 fromLiverpool Wanderers [es], winning theChilean Primera División in 1933, 1934, 1935 and 1938. Despite spending over two years with no playing due to an act of indiscipline, he joinedUnión Española in 1943, winning theleague title.[3][4]
Ponce ended his career as player/manager ofIberia, then based in Santiago, winning theDivisión de Ascenso de Chile [es] in 1945.[3]
