Luis Ángel Maté Mardones (born 23 March 1984) is a Spanish professionalroad andgravel cyclist, who rides forUCI ProTeamEuskaltel–Euskadi.[3]
Born inMarbella, Maté has competed as a professional since 2008, competing forAndalucía–Cajasur andAndroni Giocattoli prior to moving toCofidis for the 2011 season.[4] After ten seasons with Cofidis, Maté signed an initial two-year contract with Euskaltel–Euskadi, from the 2021 season.[5] He extended his stay with the team into 2023,[6] winning a stage at theVolta a Portugal.[7]
