Lugius was a co-leader of theCimbri tribe during theCimbrian War, in which the Cimbri won a spectacular victory against theRomans at theBattle of Arausio in 105 BC.[1] He was later defeated and slain along withBoiorix at theBattle of Vercellae in 101 BC. The other Cimbrian chiefsClaodicus andCaesorix were captured.[2]
