Lucky Starzzz is the stage name ofAlain Castaneda (born February 7, 1998), aCuban-American[1]drag performer who competed on theseventeenth season ofRuPaul's Drag Race.
Lucky Starzzz was born inHavana, Cuba.[2] She moved from Havana to Miami[3] at the age of 3.[4]
Lucky Starzzz began doing drag makeup in 2017, and performed for the first time in 2021. Her first performance was at Azucar Nightclub in Miami, in which she danced to RuPaul's "Kitty Girl" andTeyana Taylor's "WTP". She is adrag performer who competed on theseventeenth season ofRuPaul's Drag Race.[5] On the third episode ("Monopulence!"), she was the first contestant to be eliminated from the competition, after placing in the bottom two of aMonopoly-inspired design challenge and losing alip-sync contest againstJoella. Her Instagram following grew by 294 percent while the show aired.[6]
Lucky Starzzz has performed at Nathan's Beach Club.[7] She also appeared at thePridelines "Queerferno" gala.[8] She cites her drag mentor to be fellowDrag Race alumNina Bo'nina Brown.[9]
Lucky Starzzz is based inMiami, Florida.[2] She is friends with fellow Miami-based drag performers andRuPaul's Drag Race alumniMalaysia Babydoll Foxx,Mhi'ya Iman Le'Paige, andMorphine Love Dion. Malaysia notably assisted Lucky Starzzz by covering oversized baggage fees to ensure her attendance on the set ofDrag Race.[10]
