Lucien is aFrench restaurant located onFirst Avenue in theEast Village neighborhood ofManhattan inNew York City. Lucien was opened by Moroccan-born restaurateur Lucien Bahaj in 1998.^[1] The menu includes traditional French fare inspired by Bahaj's upbringing in theSouth of France.^[2]

Its clientele have included established celebrities through promotional collaboration with New York publicist Kaitlin Phillips; she has brought celebrities likeBella Hadid andChloë Sevigny,^[3] and New York artistsJonas Mekas andDash Snow, to the restaurant.^[4]

Bahaj died in 2019, and today the restaurant's operations are handled by his son Zac.^[4]
