Lovari ("horse-dealer", from Hungarian "ló",horse) is a subgroup of theRomani people, who speak their own dialect, influenced byHungarian andWest Slavic dialects. They live predominantly throughoutCentral Europe (Hungary,Poland,Slovakia, theCzech Republic, andGermany)[2] as well as inSoutheastern Europe (Romania,Croatia, and northernSerbia).[3][4]
TheLovari are aRomani people who speak a dialect influenced byHungarian andWest Slavic dialects. Their language is classified underVlax Romani.[5] The Lovari are further divided into theMachvaya, named after theMačva region, which they settled from modern day Hungary.
