Louise Elizabeth Sandher-Jones is a BritishLabour Party politician who has been theMember of Parliament forNorth East Derbyshire since2024. She gained the seat fromLee Rowley, aConservative.[1] She has served asParliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Veterans and People since 2025.[2]
Sandher-Jones studiedChinese at theUniversity of Edinburgh.[3]
She is a formerArmy intelligence officer and a veteran of theWar in Afghanistan.[4] In July 2021, she joined McKenzie Intelligence Services as Head of Intelligence.[5] Jones' worked as a senior manager at McKenzie, an "Insurtech analysing the impact of natural disasters".[6]
She served as a councillor for theLoughborough East ward onCharnwood Borough Council, resigning from this role in March 2024 after she was selected as the prospective parliamentary candidate forNorth East Derbyshire.[7]
Sandher-Jones is married toJeevun Sandher, theLabour MP forLoughborough. They met in January 2023 when they were both on the campaign trail, and announced their engagement shortly after his proposal on 1 December 2024.[8] They married in August 2025, after which she changed her surname from Jones to Sandher-Jones.[9]
