Louise Marleau (born August 26, 1944) is aCanadianactress. She won the 1985Genie Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role for her role inA Woman in Transit (La Femme de l'hôtel) and was nominated in the same category in 1980 for her role inHeartbreak (L'Arrache-cœur), a role for which she won Best Actress at the 1979Montreal World Film Festival.[1]
Born inMontreal, she has been acting since she was a child, and she made her professional debut in 1962 at 18. Since that time she has worked with all the major theatrical companies in Canada, including theStratford Festival, performing in works by Molière, Feydeau, Genet, Cocteau and Shakespeare.
