Lotegorisch orLottegorisch orLekoudesch (older own description:lochne kodesch, from theHebrew:laschon = "tongue, language", andkodesch = "holy") is a trading language andPalatine variant of the secret language,Rotwelsch, spoken in theLeiningerland (especially inCarlsberg), where in the late 18th century manyvagrants, including manyJews, were settled and where many of them worked as cattle traders, itinerant craftsmen, andpeddlers.[1][2]
