Loos (French pronunciation:[lɔs]) is acommune in theNorddepartment in northernFrance (Hauts-de-France).[3]

It is located in theEuropean Metropolis of Lille, and is asuburb of the city ofLille, bordering it on its southwest side. In 2018, Loos had a population of 22,426. The commune has a land area of 6.95 km2 (2.68 sq mi).[4]

The town hall of Loos, with its large belfry, was inscribed on theUNESCOWorld Heritage List in 2005 in recognition of its historical importance to municipal power in Europe.[5]

The Kennedy Tower, the tallest tower in the region, was destroyed in July 2025.[6]
