Loïcia Demougeot (born 31 January 2002) is a Frenchice dancer. With her skating partner,Théo le Mercier, she is the2023 Budapest Trophy bronze medalist,2024 International Challenge Cup champion, and five-timeFrench national medalists.

Earlier in their career, Demougeot/Le Mercier twice finished with in the top eight at theWorld Junior Championships (2019;2020) and were two-time silver medalists on theISU Junior Grand Prix series.

Career

Early years

Demougeot began learning to skate in 2008.[1] She teamed up withThéo le Mercier in 2015.The two made their international debut in February 2016 at theBavarian Open. They debuted on theJunior Grand Prix series in August of the same year.

Demougeot/Le Mercier qualified to the final segment at the2018 World Junior Championships inSofia, Bulgaria. They ranked fourteenth in the short dance, fifteenth in the free dance, and fifteenth overall.

In February 2019, they won the French junior national title for the first time. They placed seventh in the rhythm dance, ninth in the free dance, and eighth overall at the2019 World Junior Championships inZagreb, Croatia.

Beginning the2019–20 season on theJunior Grand Prix, Demougeot/Le Mercier won silver medals at both theJGP France and theJGP Croatia, qualifying for the first time to theJunior Grand Prix Final, where they finished fifth.[2] Winning a second consecutive national junior title, they then placed sixth at the2020 World Junior Championships.[3]

2021–22 season

Following theCOVID-19 pandemic causing the cancellation of what would have been their final international junior season, Demougeot/Le Mercier moved up to the senior ranks for the2021–22 season. They made theirChallenger series debut at the2021 Lombardia Trophy, finishing ninth.[4] Making theirGrand Prix debut at the2021 Internationaux de France, they finished ninth among ten teams.[5] After winning the bronze medal at their first senior French nationals, Demougeot/Le Mercier made their debut at theEuropean Championships, finishing sixteenth.[6]


2022–23 season

Demougeot/Le Mercier began the2022–23 season at the2022 Lombardia Trophy, where they finished in fifth place. Given twoGrand Prix assignments, they finished fourth at both the2022 Skate America and the2022 Grand Prix de France.[4] Speaking after the latter, an enthused Le Mercier said: "if someone would have told us before the Grand Prix season that we would end up with fourth place, we wouldn't have believed it."[7]

After winning the silver medal at the French championships, Demougeot/Le Mercier finished seventh at the2023 European Championships. Making theirWorld Championship debut inSaitama, Japan, they finished fourteenth.[6]

2023–24 season

At the2023 Budapest Trophy, Demougeot/Le Mercier won the bronze medal, their first on theChallenger series.[6]

Given twoGrand Prix assignments, they finished fifth at the2023 Cup of China. They indicated they would remain in China until their second event, Japan'sNHK Trophy.[8] After training at Beijing's Olympic center, they finished fifth at NHK Trophy as well. Demougeot called the extended absence from home "tough but so rewarding at the same time."[9]

Demougeot/Le Mercier won their second consecutive French national silver medal before competing at the2024 European Championships inKaunas, Lithuania. Only eighth in the rhythm dance, albeit with a new personal best, they rose to fifth overall with more new personal bests. Demougeot said "the score exceeded our expectations."[10] In an interview in interview shortly after, the team reflected on their successful season thus far and revealed what they wanted to improve on next.[11] They went on to win a gold medal at theInternational Challenge Cup.[12]

At the2024 World Championships inMontreal, Demougeot/Le Mercier finished eleventh in the rhythm dance with another new personal best score.[13] Thirteenth in the free dance, they remained eleventh overall.[14]

2024–25 season

Demougeot/Le Mercier began the season by winning bronze at the2024 Master's de Patinage. Going on to compete on the2024–25 Grand Prix series, they finished fifth at the2024 NHK Trophy and seventh at the2024 Cup of China.[15]

After winning the silver medal at the2025 French Championships, Demougeot/Le Mercier went on to win gold at the2025 Sofia Trophy.[15]

In January, the pair competed at the2025 European Championships inTallinn, Estonia, placing sixth in the rhythm dance, tenth in the free dance, and finishing in ninth place overall. They then went on to win gold at the2025 International Challenge Cup.[15]

Demougeot/Le Mercier finished the season by coming in fifteenth place at the2025 World Championships inBoston, Massachusetts, United States.[15]

2025–26 season

Demougeot/Le Mercier opened the season by winning bronze at the2025 Master's de Patinage. They then competed on the2025–26 Challenger Series, placing fifth at the2025 CS Nepela Memorial and winning bronze at the2025 CS Trialeti Trophy. Going on to compete on the2025–26 Grand Prix series, Demougeot/Le Mercier placed sixth at the2025 Cup of China and fourth at2025 Skate America.[15]

In December, Demougeot/Le Mercier won the silver medal at the2025 CS Golden Spin of Zagreb and then won bronze at the2026 French Championships. The following month, they competed at the2026 European Championships inSheffield, England,United Kingdom, finishing in ninth place overall.[15]
