Lloyd Glasspool (born 19 November 1993) is a British professionaltennis player who specialises in doubles. He is the current ATPworld No. 1 in doubles, achieved on 18 August 2025, becoming the fourth British player to hold the top spot.[1]Glasspool won the2025 Wimbledon title withJulian Cash, the first all-British team to win the title in 89 years.[2][3] He has won an additional 11ATP Tour and fiveATP Challenger doubles titles. He also has a career best singles ranking of No. 282 reached on 25 July 2016.
Glasspool studied at theUniversity of Texas at Austin, where partneringSøren Hess-Olesen he captured the 2015 NCAA doubles championship.[4]
Glasspool made hisATP Tour debut (in doubles) at the2016 Wimbledon Championships having been given a wildcard to partner compatriotDan Evans in the main draw.[5]
PartneringHarri Heliövaara, Glasspool won his firstATP Tour title at the2021 Open 13 againstSander Arends andDavid Pel of the Netherlands in March.
In May 2022, on their debut at theItalian Open, Glasspool and Heliövaara reached their first quarterfinal at a Masters 1000 level as alternates, defeating top seeds, world No. 1,Joe Salisbury, and world No. 2,Rajeev Ram, en route,[6] marking their first win at this level.[7]
At theFrench Open, he reached a major quarterfinal for the first time in his career with Heliövaara. As a result he moved into the top 50, at world No. 49 on 13 June 2022.The pair continued with their successful season reaching their first final on grass at theQueen's Club. Next they advanced to the third round at Wimbledon for the second consecutive year.[8]
They won the biggest title at the ATP 500European Open defeatingMatwe Middelkoop andRohan Bopanna.[9]At the2022 Croatia Open Umag they reached the semifinals defeating wildcardsMili Poljicak andNino Serdarusic.[10] Next they defeated second seedsRafael Matos andDavid Vega Hernandez to reach their fifth final of the season.[11]
At the2022 National Bank Open the pair reached a second Masters quarterfinal for the season where they lost to third seeds Koolhof/Skupski.[12] He reached the top 30 on 22 August 2022 at No. 28.
Seeded 11th at theUS Open they reached their second quarterfinal and first at this Major defeating 8th seeded pair of Kyrgios/Kokkinakis.[13] The pair reached their sixth final of the season at the2022 Moselle Open.[14] As a result Glasspool reached the top 20 in the rankings on 26 September 2022.
On 4 November the pair qualified for their first2022 ATP Finals after reaching their first Masters semifinal inParis and Glasspool moved into the top 15.[15] They qualified for the semifinals defeating Arévalo/Rojer and Granollers/Zeballos both matches in straight sets.[16]

He won his third title with his partner Heliövaara inAdelaide.[17] He also reached his tenth final inDubai with Heliövaara.[18] He made his top 10 debut following theRome Masters after winning the2023 BNP Paribas Primrose Bordeaux Challenger 175 with Heliövaara.[19]
Glasspool partnered withJean-Julien Rojer and the pair won their first title at the2024 Brisbane International.[20][21]
With new partner, fellow BritonJulian Cash, he won the2024 Japan Open, defeatingAriel Behar andRobert Galloway in the final.[22][23]At the2024 Paris Masters where he partnered for the first time withAdam Pavlásek, the unseeded alternate pair reached the final with wins over fifth seeded Italian duoSimone Bolelli andAndrea Vavassori, local favoritesSadio Doumbia andFabien Reboul, and US Open champions and fourth seeded Australian duoMax Purcell andJordan Thompson.[24][25] They lost the final to sixth seedsWesley Koolhof andNikola Mektić in a deciding champions tiebreak.[26][27]
Reuniting with Julian Cash, Glasspool won the title at theBrisbane International as defending champion, defeatingJiří Lehečka andJakub Menšík in the final.[28][29] Glasspool and Cash defeatedAriel Behar andRobert Galloway in a deciding set tiebreak to reach the quarterfinals at theAustralian Open,[30] where they lost to fourth seedsKevin Krawietz andTim Pütz.[31]
In February, Glasspool and Cash defeated fellow BritonsJoe Salisbury andNeal Skupski in straight sets to win their second title of the year at theQatar Open.[32][33]At theMiami Open Glasspool reached the final with Cash defeatingPedro Martinez andGiovanni Mpetshi Perricard,[34]Yuki Bhambri andNuno Borges, and then second seeded pairHarri Heliovaara andHenry Patten,[35] before losing to top seedsMarcelo Arévalo andMate Pavić.[36]
In April, Glasspool and Cash were runners-up at theMonte-Carlo Masters, losing toRomain Arneodo andManuel Guinard in the final which went to a deciding champions tiebreak.[37][38]
Seeded second on the grass-courts at's-Hertogenbosch in June, they reached the final, but again lost in a deciding champions tiebreak to third seedsMatthew Ebden andJordan Thompson.[39] The following week, Glasspool and Cash became the first all-British pairing to win the doubles title at theQueen's Club Championships in theOpen Era, defeatingNikola Mektić andMichael Venus in the final.[40] Five days later, they made it back-to-back titles by defeatingAriel Behar andJoran Vliegen in the final at theEastbourne Open.[41][42] AtWimbledon, Glasspool and Cash defeated defending champions Harri Heliövaara and Henry Patten in the quarterfinals,[43][44] then fourth seedsMarcel Granollers andHoracio Zeballos in the semifinals to become the first all-British pair to reach the final in the Open Era.[45][46] In the final they defeatedRinky Hijikata andDavid Pel, becoming the first all-British team to win the title in 89 years.[2][47] Glasspool reached a career-high of world No.3 on 14 July 2025, becoming British men's doubles No. 1 for the first time in the process.[48]
In August at theCanadian Open, Glasspool and Cash extended their winning streak to 19 matches by defeating Joe Salisbury and Neal Skupski in the final to win their first ATP Masters 1000 title[49] and in the process becoming the first team to qualify for the2025 ATP Finals.[50]Following reaching the semifinals at theCincinnati Open, defeating Matthew Ebden/Jordan Thompson andSimone Bolelli/Andrea Vavassori, Glasspool claimed the top World No. 1 spot in the doubles rankings on 18 August 2025.[51][1] Their loss toRajeev Ram andNikola Mektić ended their 22 match winning streak.[52]
The following month, Glasspool and Cash made their debuts for theGreat Britain Davis Cup team together againstPoland in theirWorld Group I tie inGdynia, losing toKarol Drzewiecki andJan Zieliński.[53]
In October, Glasspool and Cash won theVienna Open, defeatingLucas Miedler andFrancisco Cabral in the final.[54] They were runners-up at theParis Masters, losing to Harri Heliövaara and Henry Patten in the final.[55]
After defeating Kevin Krawietz and Tim Pütz in their second group match at theATP Finals, Glasspool and Cash secured the year-end ATP No. 1 doubles team ranking, becoming the first all British pair to achieve the feat.[56] They went on to reach the semifinals at the season-ending showpiece event, but lost to Joe Salisbury and Neal Skupski in a match which went to a deciding champions tiebreak.[57]
Glasspool is the son of aEnglish father andWelsh mother. From 2016 to 2018, Glasspool was in a relationship with fellow tennis professionalHeather Watson.[58]
He is the younger brother of formerHollyoaks actorParry Glasspool.[59]
