LliureX (Valencian pronunciation:[ˈʎiwɾeks]) is a project of theGeneralitat Valenciana with the goal of introducing newICTs based onfree software in theValencian Community education system.
It is aLinux distribution that is used on over 110,000 PCs in schools in theValencia region.[1]
Originally it was based onDebian but since version 7.09 it is based onUbuntu and since version 19 onKDE neon.
LliureX was awarded the Open Awards 2019 at the OpenExpo conference for its innovation in the field of education.[2]
