Elizabeth Heldens is atelevision writer andproducer. She is the creator ofDeception, a drama onNBC which premiered on January 7, 2013. She has worked on theNBC drama seriesFriday Night Lights. She was nominated for aWriters Guild of America Award for Best New Series at theFebruary 2007 ceremony for her work on the first season ofFriday Night Lights. She was nominated for the WGA Award for Best Dramatic Series the following year at theFebruary 2008 ceremony for her work on the second season ofFriday Night Lights.[1][2][3] Heldens was nominated for Best Dramatic Series a second time at theFebruary 2009 ceremony for her work on the third season ofFriday Night Lights.[4] She was nominated for the WGA Award for Best Drama Series for the third consecutive year at theFebruary 2010 ceremony for her work on the fourth season.[5] Her production company is Selfish Mermaid.[6]

Helden's other television credits includeBoston Public,Pepper Dennis,North Shore,The Orville,The Dropout,Bionic Woman andMercy, a series she created.
