InGreek mythology,Lixus (Ancient Greek: Λίξος) was anEgyptian prince as one of thesons of KingAegyptus.[1]
Lixus's mother was thenaiadCaliadne and thus full brother ofEurylochus,Peristhenes,Hermus,Dryas,Phantes,Cisseus,Potamon,Imbrus,Bromius,Polyctor andChthonius.[1] In some accounts, he could be a son of Aegyptus either byEurryroe, daughter of theriver-godNilus,[2] orIsaie, daughter of KingAgenor ofTyre.[3]
Lixus suffered the same fate as his other brothers, saveLynceus, when they were slain on their wedding night by their wives who obeyed the command of their father KingDanaus ofLibya. He married theDanaidCleodore, daughter of Danaus and the naiadPolyxo.[1]
