Little Thorpe is a hamlet in thecivil parish ofEasington Village, inCounty Durham, England.[1] It is situated betweenEasington andPeterlee.
This small settlement literally derives its name from the fact it is a small village, as "Thorpe" isAnglo-Saxon for village.
It seems to have been a community that was originally centred on afarmstead, and most of the buildings appear to be in theElizabethan style, but are more probablyVictorian in age.[citation needed]
