


TheLittle Southwest Miramichi River is a river inNorthumberland County,New Brunswick, Canada. InMi'kmaq it is referred to as "Tooadook".[1][2]
This river has its origins at Gover Lake in the Miramichi Highlands, part of theAppalachian Mountains. The river flows between theNorthwest Miramichi River, to its north, and theRenous River to its south. It joins the Northwest Miramichi River atRed Bank, whereas the Renous River joins theSouthwest Miramichi River atRenous.
The Northwest Miramichi River then joins the Southwest Miramichi River atNewcastle to form theMiramichi River.
The river is noted forAtlantic Salmon fishing. Many of the upper and middle stretches of the river arewhitewater, and dangerous forcanoeing; the lower part of the river is much more commonly canoed.
"Lower North Branch Little Southwest Miramichi River" is the ninth longest place name in Canada.[3]
