TheLittle River is a 7.4-mile-long (11.9 km)[1]river in theWhite Mountains ofNew Hampshire in theUnited States. It is a tributary of theAmmonoosuc River and part of theConnecticut Riverwatershed.
The Little River rises in theWhite Mountain National Forest in a smallcirque in theTwin Range, withZealand Mountain to the east,Mount Guyot to the south, andSouth Twin Mountain to the west. The river flows north into the town ofBethlehem, through a deep valley betweenNorth Twin Mountain to the west andMount Hale to the east. Eventually the river enters the town ofCarroll near the community ofTwin Mountain, passes underU.S. Route 3, and ends at the Ammonoosuc River.
The Little River is a public water supply for the village of Twin Mountain. A portion of the river is paralleled by (and crossed three times by) the North Twin Trail, a hiking trail.
