Little Griddle was originally co-owned by Yossel Gyorgak and head chef Judd Harris, and Karen Harding became a co-owner in 2019. The business has garnered a positive reception and was included in lists of the nation's best breakfast and brunch restaurants byTravel + Leisure andYelp.
Little Griddle operates twobreakfast andbrunch cafes inPortland, Oregon. The original 600-square-foot restaurant on Fremont Street innortheast Portland'sBeaumont-Wilshire neighborhood has aseating capacity of 25 people,[1][2] and a second location operates onHawthorne Boulevard insoutheast Portland'sRichmond neighborhood.[3]
The menu includesbiscuits and gravy,French toast andpancakes,[4] grain bowls,[1]polenta withcollards, andshakshouka.[2]Eggs Benedict varieties havecured ham orbraised pork shoulder, and Little Griddle also serves egg-and-cheese onbuttermilk biscuits. Drink optionsBloody Marys,mimosas, and coffee by Portland Roasting Coffee.[1][3]
The original Little Griddle opened in late 2017. Yossel Gyorgak, Karen Harding,[5] and Judd Harris have been co-owners; Harris is also the head chef.[1] Harding, who foundedCup & Saucer Cafe, became an owner of Little Griddle in 2019.[6]
The Hawthorne location operates in a space previously occupied by Cup & Saucer Cafe.[3] Little Griddle has hosted the Hawaiianpop-up Kau Kau.[7][8][9][10]
In 2021, Little Griddle was included inYelp's list of the top 100 brunch restaurants in the U.S.[5] In 2023, Little Griddle ranked number 33 in Yelp's same list[11] and Amy Schulman included the business inTravel + Leisure's list of the nation's fifteen best breakfast restaurants.[4] Zoe Baillargeon, Janey Wong, and Rebecca Roland included Little Griddle inEater Portland's 2024 overview of the city's best breakfasts.[3]
